A gift to UNC School of Social Work is an investment in the well-being of families and communities in North Carolina and beyond. We need your help as we work to solve problems that threaten our society — substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, racism and social injustice, financial insecurity, and more.
New Scholarship!
Please consider making a gift to the Hortense McClinton Legacy Scholarship, which honors the first Black faculty member at Carolina.
Every tax-deductible donation contributes directly toward student scholarships, endowed professorships, and program support at our School.
Your generous financial support is vital to our mission. Because we receive less than 30% of our budget from State of North Carolina recurring funds, we rely on private gifts, grants, and other funding sources to ensure that we can continue to serve as one of the nation’s top schools of social work.
Learn How Your Gift Helps
First and foremost, your gift provides opportunities for our MSW and doctoral students to become the best possible social work professionals. In many cases, students would be unable to complete their degrees without assistance from donor gifts.

Learn About Donor Recognition
We honor every donor whose generosity helps advance the work of our School, the accomplishments of our students, and the leadership of our faculty. As you walk through our School, you’ll see donors’ names appearing on our lobby, on classrooms and conference rooms, and even on the bricks surrounding our courtyard. You’ll also see an honor roll of donors published in our annual report and mailed to alumni each year.
What are the other ways we honor our donors? Examine some of the options.
