Career Services

Many students find their first full-time jobs in social work as a result of their field experiences. Other students may choose to search for different opportunities. We’re here to help!

SSW Career Day

Each spring, UNC School of Social Work hosts a career fair for social work students throughout North Carolina. More than 40 hiring organizations attend to share information about their workplaces and to talk with interested students.

Alumni/Student Job Boards

Our School invites North Carolina agencies and organizations with job vacancies in social work to post announcements to our Alumni/Student Job Board.

Another resource is available from the NC Child Welfare Education Collaborative, part of the Family and Children’s Resource Program, through funding from the NC Division of Social Services. It is a registry for job vacancies in departments of social services at the county and state level in North Carolina.

MSW Professional Development

Our School offers an annual schedule of lunchtime workshops that address different aspects of career development. You’ll find these workshops posted on our events calendar.

UNC Career Services

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers many services to our students — workshops, recruiting events, consultations with career counselors, tips for interviewing, an online Career Readiness Workbook and more.
