Center for Aging & Adult Research and Educational Services (Cares)

Established in 1987 by Gary M. Nelson, DSW, the Center for Aging & Adult Research and Educational Services is part of the  Jordan Institute for Families. Cares works to improve the lives of older and younger North Carolinians with disabilities and their families.

Cares offers a variety of educational programs for human services professionals designed to strengthen their service to vulnerable populations. Cares also frequently works with the N.C. Division of Aging and other recipients of federal grants to conduct independent evaluations of grant-funded interventions and initiatives.
