Anti-Racism

Our School has always affirmed its commitment to anti-racism. As an institution, however, our School has not always demonstrated this commitment throughout our 100-year history.

Today, we are ready for change. Black faculty members have identified practices within the School that must evolve quickly, and we are responding to their call for action with a long-overdue critical assessment of where we must improve and where we must make amends.

We are sharing two letters that former Dean Gary Bowen wrote to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and donors in June 2020.

These letters outline actions that have already begun at our School. Other activities, including a voter awareness initiative, will begin later in 2020. This page will share additional information as it becomes available.
