Special Projects

From time to time, our School offers the opportunity to become part of a special project that benefits a particular population or service need.

These special projects usually engage both our students and our faculty in activities that include service, education, and research. One recent example is the UNC Refugee Mental Health and Wellness Initiative, which offers mental health screenings and treatment to newly-arrived refugees.

Some special projects are short term — they are designed to fund a specific effort (a construction project, for example), and when the effort is fully funded or completed, the special project concludes.
