We are currently recruiting for two Youth Program Education Assistant I’s to function as Teacher/Counselor Assistant at Wright School. These positions work directly with children, aged 6-13, implementing a therapeutic behavior management system which provides consistent, safe and therapeutic management. Children may display aggressive, explosive, and externalized behavior. The positions monitor and document safety and security for each child every 15 minutes through direct visual observation during overnight hours. Medication administration and self-care assistance is required. The positions utilize computerize data management systems, manage other treatment documentation, assist teachers/counselors in preparing materials for educational and/or treatment activities that will be implemented in the day or evening programs. Training includes med administration, child development and psychopathology, complex behavioral programming, role modeling, counseling at the point of performance, decision making, crisis intervention, emergency response, language/communication modeling, activities of daily living, maintaining a home-like environment and generalization of skills taught in education and treatment settings.

These are full-time positions and eligible for the full State benefits package. The normal work hours are Monday-Friday, 11:00pm – 7:30am; however, flexibility is required to meet facility needs.
