RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

CLASSIFICATION: Social Work Supervisor III UNIT: Child Protective Services
SALARY RANGE: $59,479 – $75,836
WORK SCHEDULE: 8am – 5pm and Rotating On Call

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans work operations, sets priorities, sets deadlines, and establishes goals for the unit.
Evaluates and documents staff performance on a probationary, monthly, and annual basis.
Participates in the recruitment and hiring process for hiring of new social workers.
Provides supervision and guidance of casework involving children at risk for or victims of neglect, abuse, or dependency.
Identifies risk and directs safety interventions to children in family and out of home settings.
Attends court regularly, supervises court preparation.
Completes quality assurance reviews of case files, identifies training needs.
Recommends and conducts individual and group training of new and existing staff.
Conducts Child and Family Team meetings.
Revolving on call coverage.
Performs other duties as assigned, which may include shelter duty.

IDEAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices, and their application to complex casework, group work, and community issues.
Considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques including resources in the community.
Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations, and policies which govern Child Welfare programs.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, clients, non custodial parents, and other professionals.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
Ability to analyze data, read reports, and maintain statistics.
Ability to analyze, prioritize, plan, and execute work timely and accurately.

PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience;
Or, a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience;
Or, a master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience;
Or, a bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience;
Or, a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience;
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
And, the successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
