JOB TITLE: Social Work Supervisor II – Work First

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Responsible for supervision of a unit of 6-9 staff in conducting the North Carolina Work First program for Randolph County. Staff include a blend of Social Workers, Income Maintenance Caseworkers, a Human Services Coordinator, and a Human Resource Placement Specialist. Involves reviewing program objectives and providing input to higher-level management on short-range planning needs for staff or unit. Assigns cases to staff and monitors the work of subordinate staff through case reviews, progress reports, conferences, and informal discussions to assure compliance with operational standards and established policies. Performs related duties as required.
SPECIAL COMMENTS: Oral and written interviews required. A verbal Spanish test will be given if applicant lists Spanish as a second language.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work or counseling experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of social work or counseling; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling, or a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. OFFICIAL college transcripts must accompany application in order for application to be considered complete.
