The Counseling and Psychological Services Social Work Fellow is professionally licensed or license eligible at the “Associate” level to practice social work under the supervision of a member of the Social Work Staff for one hour per every 30 clinical hours. Under the supervision of staff, the fellow will provide individual and group therapy and assessment, as well as occasional outreach programming. A primary focus of the position will be to serve Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander students providing mental health services, as well as delivering programming and outreach. UNC Counseling and Psychological Services is committed to supporting this position with opportunities to foster Departmental and Campus-wide partnerships to build community and to develop innovative and creative approaches to best support the well-being of AAPI students. Please note this is a one (1) year time-limited position.

With the support of their Referral Coordinator Supervisors the Social Work Fellow will also provide Referral Coordination services- transitional support to the client in need of referral to community services for treatment that exceeds the scope of service of Counseling and Psychological Services. With the support of Triage supervision, they will provide 4-8 hours of triage weekly. If Social Work Intern returns for a second year, if appropriate, they may supervise a MSW Intern with the support of “Supervision of Supervision”.

This position requires an MSW, who has been licensed as an LCSW-A by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.
