The Senior Manager of Parent and Family Engagement will serve as NC Child’s lead representative when it comes to engaging and working with parents and families in the State of North Carolina. A major focus of that work will be staffing NC Child’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC). The PAC is an advocacy group of parents and caregivers from across the state whose children rely on Medicaid for their health care. The goal of the Parent Advisory Council is to ensure that those directly affected by Medicaid have a say in how these programs operate and work for North Carolina’s children. This position will organize PAC meetings and events and ensure that PAC members have what they need to participate fully. They will play an important role in the PAC’s story collection efforts, and they will serve as the point person for PAC members, especially addressing challenges they face with public benefits and services like Medicaid and others. They will also support NC Child’s work with the EarlyWell Initiative and serve as a trusted and responsive resource to all EarlyWell Parent Leaders. EarlyWell is made up of over 100 service providers, clinicians, and advocates for children’s social, emotional, and mental health.
