1099 Contract (Non-Employee) Position

Work hours

Minimum 16 hours per week (2 days a week or 4 partial days), may negotiate for more hours

Pay rate

35.00-60.00 per hour depending on qualifications

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
Optional clinical license (LCSW/LCSWA or LCMHC/LCMHCA could add up to 8 additional working hours)
DPI Educator License in Social Work or related field desired but not required with appropriate clinical licensure or related credentials
K-8 School experience or experience with children and adolescents ages 5-14
Must have field or related work experience in a school setting
Utilize skills that respect issues of cultural and ethnic diversity and equity for every student and family
Desired candidate will be skilled in working with exceptional children populations and populations with a history of trauma.

Job description

School Social Worker/Mental Health Support role
Direct Services to Students and Families
Lead therapeutic skills groups with identified students on social-emotional topics
Assist with mental health screenings, and referrals
Provide crisis intervention services including child abuse and neglect, family functioning, parent involvement, school attendance
Work with students and families to identify steps that promote school attendance
Investigate, as prescribed by law, violators of the compulsory attendance law
Make home visits for attendance problem-solving issues and truancy
Connect families with outside agencies and support services (food, housing, additional referrals)

Support Services:
Serve on the school’s threat assessment team
Provide skills training to parents on related social-emotional topics
Implement appropriate programs, groups and initiatives that target at risk populations
Strengthen home, school, and community connections by identifying essential components to create positive learning environments for students
Participate in case conferences with student services personnel
Collaborate with community agencies
Understand and practice in accordance with, federal, state, and local laws, and/or policies that relate to students and families
Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments and writing behavior contracts
Consult with school teams on Behavior Intervention Plans, behavior goals within IEPs, deliver behavioral services on IEP as needed
Assist the Student Services Coordinator in writing portions of the school’s crisis plan and maintenance of the school’s mental health policy and plan
Maintain working relationships with students/families, staff, administrators, and community agency staff
Review enrollment paperwork to determine eligibility
Assist with Free/reduced lunch systems

Potential opportunity for an additional 8 hours for the provision of direct school-based therapy services for qualified individual with appropriate clinical license (LCSW/LCSWA or LCMHC/LCMHCA)

Pay rate for this service: $45-$110 per hour

Skill in utilizing age and goal-appropriate therapy modalities and behavioral health interventions including but not limited to Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Family Therapy, or other related modalities
Complete psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans to support student success, and maintain accurate case records and documentation in a timely manner
Connect with families for wrap-around support and interventions
License must be in good standing
Existing supervision contract must be in place. Clinical supervision will not be provided
Must provide proof of and maintain professional liability insurance according to license
