This position is responsible for administering crisis and human services programs for the Town of Chapel Hill, including the Crisis Intervention Unit, Victim Assistance and Human Services.

The Chapel Police Department Police Crisis Unit was established in 1973 as one of the earliest examples of law enforcement and human services professionals working together. The primary purpose of the unit is to provide field response to crisis situations that arise in the community. The unit provides immediate crisis intervention and then works to connect individuals with community resources that address longer term intervention and treatment. The Crisis Unit Supervisor serves on the Police Chief’s leadership team and is responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, organizations, and agencies.
