Greenbrier Academy for Girls is located in historical Pence Springs, WV. Must be willing to relocate to southern West Virginia (within 60 miles of Pence Springs, WV, 24962).
Greenbrier Academy has an opening for an energetic & creative licensed therapist/counselor who loves working with teenage girls and their families.
We are looking for a licensed therapist with complementary skills to the unique approach and interventions of our model. These skills include training &/or certification in trauma-focused interventions such as DBT, CBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, NLP, Art Therapy, Yoga, and Psychodrama.

About the Position:
Your role will be more significant than just counseling students in your office. Our clinical department provides a robust support system through weekly consultation, team meetings, & a supportive environment.
Students typically come to us with some of the following: anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia, trauma, attachment disorder, & family dysfunction. Your caseload would involve leading a family unit, 6 to 8 students, where responsibilities are shared among the treatment team, including a teacher/academic advisor & our residential mentor staff.

• The goal of the relational therapist is to help clients experience productive conflict that leads to greater intimacy and love, despite the seeming messiness of such interactions.

• By too rigidly adhering to abstractions—diagnoses, techniques, therapeutic principles— we run the risk of becoming disengaged from the particulars of our relationships because we relate to the abstractions rather than the people themselves. About our Campus:
Greenbrier Academy is located in Pence Springs, WV near the Virginia border and the world-renowned, 6,000-acre Greenbrier Resort. Many of our staff live in nearby Lewisburg which was named the “Coolest Small Town in the U.S” by Budget Travel. It has a small college, an osteopathic school of medicine, a Carnegie Performing Arts Center, and access to the Greenbrier Resort.
The Academy, itself, sits on a bluff above the Greenbrier River. Our campus includes the main building, which is on the US historic building roster, an academic building, therapist office buildings, a gym, an indoor riding arena and barn, 2 villages of yurts on our mountain, and mews for the falconry program.
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Master’s degree & license in social work or counseling
• Able to gain rapport with adolescents
• Strong verbal skills
• Ability to self-organize

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Build and maintain rapport with client, family, & referral sources
• Create comprehensive treatment plans
• Provide “best-practice” treatment for the presenting problem
• Complete the appropriate documentation following every session
• Hold daily groups
• Attend in-house trainings
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule
