Position Summary
Interventionist for INSPIRED Lab’s SUPER Initiative
The INSPIRED Lab is a behavioral science research team in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The INSPIRED Lab’s mission is to inspire change, prevent health disparities, and achieve health equity through innovative and rigorous research, education, and community engagement.

The INSPIRED Lab is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced interventionist to implement the Substance Use Prevention, Education, and Research (SUPER) initiative. In partnership with community agencies, SUPER is a 4-year research initiative that aims to prevent youth substance use and enhance participating counties’ capacities for preventing substance use. The person who holds this position will have an on-campus office, but the majority of the work will occur in the community in Durham and Granville counties. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of Ms. Andrea Murray-Lichtman.
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates demonstrating comparable independent group facilitation activities, we will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution.

Qualifications and Experience
Preferred qualifications:
-Experience using prevention and implementation science tools and strategies
-Project management or coordinator experience
-Data collection experience
-Proficient in Spanish

-Experienced in facilitating and engaging diverse groups
-Effective project management skills including setting goals and timelines, managing schedules, and evaluating and monitoring progress
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-Highly proficient in Microsoft programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as in teleconferencing technology (e.g., Zoom, Skype)
-Leadership, coaching, and team building skills
-Detailed oriented but understands program implementation and management
-Ability to work cooperatively by demonstrating professional, ethical, and respectful behavior
-Ability to manage conflict and works well with diverse workforce
