CLASSIFICATION: Income Maintenance Investigator II UNIT: Program Integrity
HIRING RANGE: $36,267 – $46,241 GRADE: 65
WORK SCHEDULE: M-F, 8am – 5pm

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs intake, processing, eligibility, change review for economic services programs when referrals of potential case fraud is reported.
Responsible for managing a caseload to ensure all activities are completed timely, accurately, and documented.
Must represent the agency position in local and state fair hearing appeals by explaining and justifying actions taken by the county.
Prepares and maintains accurate and ongoing documentation of workload activities through case documentation, daysheet coding, and travel reimbursement.
Performs other duties as assigned, which may include shelter duty.

IDEAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, state and federal law as related to governmental operations.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations and procedures.
Ability to express ideas and communicate clearly and concisely.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, administrative officials, other professionals, and the general public.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Ability to analyze, prioritize, plan, and execute work timely and accurately.
Considerable knowledge of investigative procedures and techniques.
Knowledge and/or ability to use office equipment, software systems, internet based programs.

PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
An Associate’s Degree in Human Services Technology, Social Services Associate, Paralegal Technology, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or closely related curriculum and two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Investigator;
Or, graduation from high school and three years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Income Maintenance Investigator;
Or, graduation from high school and two years of investigative experience in credit, legal, or law enforcement work plus eighteen months experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Income Maintenance Investigator;
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
