Summary

The North Carolina Community Health Center Association is a membership association of community health centers (federally qualified health centers and federally qualified health center look-alikes). NCCHCA’s mission is to promote and support patient-governed community health care organizations and the populations they serve. The Director of Behavioral Health will support NCCHCA member community health centers to build and sustain integrated behavioral health services. Integrated behavioral health care blends care in one setting for medical conditions and related behavioral health factors that affect health and well-being. Integrated behavioral health care, a part of “whole-person care,” is a rapidly emerging shift in the practice of high-quality health care. The Director of Behavioral Health will work with a wide variety of stakeholders: community health centers, payers, physicians, nurses, social workers, administrative staff, and partnered social services. We are looking for an individual with the ability to develop and provide training and technical assistance to health center providers and staff, analyze, and interpret complex information, and pay attention to details.

This position leads a team of professionals whose function is to support health centers in building comprehensive services to meet the needs of their patients and communities, with a focus on supporting health centers to:

– Build and sustain quality integrated behavioral health care services
– Engage with local, state, and national partners to promote behavioral health access

This position will also:

-Lead training and technical assistance to NC health centers related to behavioral health, including organizing and delivering trainings, providing individual consultation to health centers, and supporting peer to peer learning
-Lead the NCCHCA Behavioral Health Workgroup, a peer learning group made up of behavioral health providers and program administrators at NC FQHCs
-Support health centers in exploring addition of behavioral health services
-Lead the community-based behavioral health, IDD, TBI, and substance use intervention, prevention, and treatment strategies and policies for the Association
-Provide support to the Carolina Medical Home Network team on initiatives related to behavioral health
-Help lead and shape policy directions for the Association’s members related to behavioral health
-Represent NCCHCA in meetings with various governmental agencies, statewide advocacy groups and the public
-Maintain expertise in policies affecting provision of behavioral health services at FQHCs

Minimum Qualifications

Current licensure as a LCSW, LCMHC or LCAS, dual licensure preferred
Minimum of 5+ years of manager or director level experience in a behavioral health is required
Bachelor’s degree in health-related field
Experience working in or supporting integrated primary care/behavioral health setting is required
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in public health, health administration, social work, public policy, or related field preferred
Experience serving Community Health Centers, safety-net primary care providers, and non-profit boards is preferred
License/Certification

Driver’s License (Required)
LSCW or LCMHC (Required)
