Communications Specialist

The Cares Communication Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive communication plan for the Cares Program. This will include:
* Providing in-house marketing, design, and communications support to the Cares team.
* Developing and implementing targeted outreach infrastructure to raise visibility of Cares and
contracting partner and build a demand for contracting partner’s services to assist them in
meeting or exceeding goals.
* Evaluating, designing, and maintaining a social media presence that maximizes social media
analytics to raise Cares’ profile and the profiles of our contracting partners.
* Creating, launching, and maintaining an online presence and brand guide that has changing and
dynamic content that assists aging and disability networks and individuals in seeing transition into
the community as a viable option for transitioning out of a facility and back into the community;
demonstrates the successes and challenges of individuals through stories; facilitates users’
navigation of program; and attracts a growing audience of stakeholders committed to removing
barriers.
* Creating and facilitating stakeholder engagement to provide guidance, feedback, and input on
the online presence.
* Managing relationship with Cares website contractor to identify content and make changes as
needed.
* Writing content for and maintaining program websites with support of the University’s ITS
department and website contractor.
* Collecting success stories of stakeholders and sharing through blogs, videos, or other formats
accessible through the website and online presence.
* Creating, implementing, and evaluating communication plans.
* Overseeing creation of online communication hub and evaluating its effectiveness.
* Writing blog posts, press releases, articles, newsletters, reports, and other materials as needed
re: the work of Cares and its contracting partner.
