JOB SUMMARY: The Case Manager provides direct case management and support services to eligible Refugee Student Impact Program (RSIP) students defined in select funding agreements in accord with best practice standards, contract and grant requirements, and Agency practices and procedures. The position performs individual refugee student school impact case management services, conducts community outreach, and maintains collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform individual case management supportive services through:
Develop a work plan consulting parents and students including school counselors and teachers to follow up on students’ academic and vocational performances.
Conducting needs assessments with parents and students to subsidize the cost of school materials such as uniforms, student bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, etc.
Assist parents and councilors with conflict mediation and resolution between students, students, and teachers or parents and teachers to ensure students’ goals are not disrupted.
Refer parents to a parenting class and conduct meetings with the parents whenever it is necessary.
Assist in identifying free or paid summer programs, after-school tutorials, and support to ensure high school completion.
Conduct outreach through:
Prepare and submit qualitative and quantitative reports according to the deadline of the Agency and funder.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree; studies in education, teaching, English language acquisition, or a similar field.
One (1) year of experience working with students; public school or ELL experience.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
Fluency in written and spoken English, bilingual ability preferred in Dari/Pashto, French, Spanish, Amharic.
Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
