We provide clinical art therapy services to diverse populations. ATI is at a pivotal moment of growth. ATI has increased its services and programming over the last few years and is seeking a strong candidate to help diversify its funding for the next stage of growth.

What you’ll do: The Assistant Director of Development will work closely with all staff, leadership and Board of Directors to set and reach ambitious but achievable fundraising goals to help advance ATI’s mission. This individual will be responsible for raising revenue through the solicitation of annual, major, principal, and corporate gifts, government and foundation grants, and special events.
Through an innovative, strategic, and entrepreneurial approach, the successful candidate will systematically forge new and foster existing prospect relationships to bolster ATI’s visibility, impact, and financial resources among the community, art therapy, and mental health fields, and beyond. They will use data analytics and donor behavior to provide guidance for solicitation projects and aim to expand and diversify ATI’s donor base and pipeline. They will also be responsible for best stewardship practices including acknowledgments, annual impact reporting, and innovative touch points to donors throughout the year.

The Assistant Director of Development is a full-time position reporting to the Executive Director. Anticipated hiring range: $45,000-50,000 commensurate with experience and skill set. This position is hybrid with approximately 20% office based and 80% remote or local community travel. . This arrangement could be subject to change.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● In partnership with ATI staff, Board, and Executive Director develop a solicitation calendar and provide leadership and coordination of solicitation strategies to attract maximum gift support through annual donors, corporate and foundation gifts, and event-based fundraising. This includes creating detailed digital and print communications plans and working with social media coordinator accordingly.
● Manage and grow the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and new individual and corporate donors, and foundations.
● Research and submit applications for relevant grants; maintain applications and renewals for current grants.
● Create and maintain a system of necessary reports and records on all solicitation efforts, including appeal performance and results. Make recommendations accordingly based on results.
● Help to refine and develop key messaging points to enhance and communicate a broad understanding of ATI’s mission and awareness of its programs.
● Cultivate volunteer support for fundraising efforts, including ATI’s signature event, I Heart Art, and other events.
● Other duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
● Minimum 1-3 years fundraising experience demonstrating proven success with individual and major gifts and/or grants, and ability to organize data to measure progress towards benchmarks
● Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships; experience with grant writing is a plus
● Event management experience is helpful
● Goal-oriented with the ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities
● Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to make cold calls/emails; not afraid to reach out and find new opportunities
● Technologically savvy; preferred experience with CRM and/or database management
● Ability to attend some evening and weekend events as needed
● Bachelor’s degree required
● High energy and passion for ATI’s mission is essential

SALARY RANGE: $45,000-$50,000 with potential for bonuses based on performance. Four weeks of vacation, 10 days of sick leave plus federal holidays; $2500 health stipend
