Overview of the Position
Helps Education Fund is seeking to hire a full-time Development Associate and Project Manager to assist with key fundraising, communication, and project management activities. The individual in this role will devote approximately 20 hours per week to development activities (such as assisting with fundraising events and individual appeals to further sustain and scale our high-quality programs) and approximately 20 hours per week to project management activities (such as supporting and overseeing implementation of our evidence-based literacy or math programs).

Overview of Development Associate Responsibilities (~20 hours per week)
As part of development work, the person hired for this position will conduct fundraising activities in two key areas: 1) cultivating our network of individual supporters through managing events, direct email appeals, and maintaining an efficient contact management database, and 2) developing outreach materials and social media campaigns to further represent our high-quality impact and build engagement with the broader community. This work will play a critical role in assisting with the organization’s fundraising, outreach, and communication efforts.

Overview of the Project Manager Responsibilities (~20 hours per week)
Project management activities will involve collaborative and independent work to ensure the effective implementation of Helping Early Literacy with Practice Strategies (HELPS) and Accelerating Mathematics with Performance and Practice Strategies (AMPPS) programs. This position will provide training, coaching, and evaluation support to staff and volunteers who implement Helps Education Fund’s programs. Additionally, the person in this role will be responsible for building relationships with community partners, coordinating tutoring and training logistics, and maintaining a positive environment for volunteers. Detailed Job Description
The primary tasks of the Development Associate and Project Manager will include:

Individual appeals and event management
● Participate in the development of multiple events per year, oversee planning, generate outreach materials, and manage event logistics
● Manage donor records and help to build an efficient infrastructure within the contact management database
● Generate the design and help produce strategic email appeals to solicit new donors and reengage lapsed donors
● Research best practices for emerging fundraising trends and attend relevant webinars or trainings
● Conduct research to identify prospective corporate groups and/or private foundations that would partner with our organization as event sponsors
● Assist with preparing fundraising, event, and donor reports for Helps Education Fund directors

Communications
● Help launch key communication materials by generating the design and copy editing of materials such as: quarterly newsletters, annual impact reports, programmatic recruitment fliers, and materials for fundraising events
● Manage social media accounts by generating topical and engaging social media posts (related to fundraising or programs) and develop systems to track relevant supporter data to boost future engagement
● Create and manage a communications calendar to facilitate consistent outreach to supporters and stakeholders (including but not limited to: volunteers, donors, Board members, private funders, nonprofit partners, etc.)
● Oversee the development of video testimonials: oversee volunteer recruitment, and develop key strategies and messaging
● Conduct research relevant to Helps Education Fund’s programs and promotion of educational equity

Project Management
● Maintain consistent communication with a range of community partners (including aligned nonprofits, school administrators, and volunteers) in an effort to ensure students are correctly selected to receive HELPS/AMPPS programming throughout the year
● Demonstrate proficiency in using the Helps Education Fund’s programs, such as HELPS, AMPPS, and COACH
● Collaborate with other project staff regarding tasks such as tutor communication, recruitment, and management
● Help oversee training and follow up efforts to ensure that community partners have the materials and support needed to implement HELPS or AMPPS programs with high levels of fidelity
● Coordinate program scheduling, such as with staffing and school schedules, assessment and evaluation schedules, as well as data collection schedules

The ideal candidate will possess the experience and training to execute the above responsibilities and demonstrate the skills, experiences, and characteristics described within this link. The salary and benefits package will be competitive, specifically, the salary will be commensurate with experience and will range from $31,000-$38,000.

The anticipated start date of this position is somewhat flexible, but an ideal start time would be mid-August.
