Faculty and staff gather to mark the winter holidays and recognize outstanding colleagues

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work staff and faculty members gathered on Thursday, Dec. 7, to celebrate the holidays and the end of another important semester with music, good food and more. The festivities were hosted by Blue Hill Event Center, a nonprofit that provides employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dressed in festive attire, employees and their families socialized, danced, and enjoyed a meal together.

Presenting Staff Awards

Clinical Assistant Professor Karon Johnson presented one of the five Staff Impact Awards. The annual awards recognize School of Social Work employees for their positivity, dedication and more.

Executive Assistant for the Office of Academic and Student Affairs Aisha Stocks receives her Above and Beyond Award from Smith P. Theimann Jr. Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Professional Practice Kimberly Strom.

Celebrating retirement
