School welcomes several new staff members

We are thrilled to welcome the following new employees who recently joined our School’s staff:

Caroline Blessing, Assistant Director of Admissions, Recruitment, and Financial Aid

Blessing previously worked at Boston College School of Social Work, where she served as assistant director of admissions. In her former role, Blessing was instrumental in recruiting the School’s inaugural Black Leadership Initiative cohort.  Blessing holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Psychology from Boston College. She is originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island.

Kamryn Clairmont, Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations

Clairmont previously served the University Development Office, where she gained experience as assistant director of annual giving and as associate director of annual giving, direct marketing. In these roles, Clairmont implemented several stewardship recognition programs and processes and helped create a one-of-a-kind campus event for GiveUNC that led to a significant increase in student involvement and philanthropy. Prior to arriving at UNC-Chapel Hill, Clairmont worked in alumni relations and annual giving at Pacific Lutheran University and Virginia Wesleyan University.  A graduate of Towson University, Clairmont holds a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University.

Alexandria Schmidt, Adult Behavioral Health Program Specialist

Schmidt will provide administrative support to the School’s Behavioral Health Springboard team, mainly serving the NC Peer Support Specialist, Provider Training and Mental Health First Aid programs, as well as to the NC Pregnancy and Opioid Exposure project. Schmidt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill and has previous experience as a research analyst, a crisis line advocate and a peer mentor.

Faye Wilkes, Facilities Management Team

Wilkes will assist Facility Planner Sam Deal with several projects around the School’s Tate-Turner-Kuralt Building over the summer. A second year MSW student, Wilkes is interested in the intersection of substance use and trauma. Wilkes is a student in the Substance Use and Addictions Specialist Program and a social work director at UNC’s Student Health Action Coalition.
