Faculty and staff were honored recently with 2023 UNC School of Social Work recognition awards. Colleagues and staff submit nominations each year for the awards, which highlight the high quality of work of faculty and staff.
The awards were presented April 27, 2023, at the last faculty meeting of the academic year. The School established the awards program in 2013. Winners receive a cash award, a personal plaque, and inclusion on a perpetual plaque located in the School’s lobby.
This year’s recipients are:
- Amy Levine: Excellence in Mentoring Faculty
- David Ansong: Excellence in Mentoring Doctoral Students
- John Anderson: Excellence in Staff Performance
- Tauchiana Williams: Excellence in Teaching
- Denise Dews: Excellence in Advising MSW Students
- Melissa Lippold: Excellence in Service to School or University
- Bernice Adjabeng: Excellence in Public Service & Engagement
- Todd Jensen: Excellence in Research
- Tonia Deese: Excellence in Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
