Christina DeNard, MSW ’10, has joined the faculty at Jane Adams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. DeNard’s professional interests are in child welfare and prevention and evidence-based practices within child welfare settings. She has experience working in publicly funded settings, where she has provided therapeutic and supportive services for children who previously experienced child maltreatment and who are leaving foster care for permanent placement.
Meredith Powers, MSW ’03, co-edited the book, “Social Work: Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability,” which was published earlier this year by the International Federation of Social Workers. Powers is an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
