Youth Mental Health First Aid is a public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and most importantly teaches individuals how to help a youth in crisis or who is experiencing a mental health or substance abuse challenge.
The training is ideal for teachers, youth ministers, staff at adolescent-serving nonprofits, coaches and mentors. The training is not targeted at mental health professionals.
Join us on December 9 and 10 from 9:00-1:00 to earn your Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification.
It will be held in room 135 at the UNC School of Social Work, Tate Turner Kuralt Building, 325 Pittsboro Street, Chapel Hill.
The cost is $50 per person, which includes the Youth Mental Health First Aid manual and snacks.
