Trauma Informed Care for Children and Families: A Two Generational, Relational Approach to Promoting Resilience and Healing

April 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Becoming trauma-informed involves recognizing the pervasive nature of trauma and its potential for profound impact on health, development, and well-being across the lifespan. Whether or not you are aware of an individual’s trauma history, one can adopt universal precautions, considering that the individuals you interact with on a daily basis may have experienced trauma and those experiences may be influencing the way they show up in the world. It is just as critical to understand the ways in which our own trauma histories may be showing up in the work we do. Becoming trauma-informed is a process and we hope that in our time together, participants will gain knowledge and strategies they can apply on their journey of becoming trauma-informed.

Kristin Meola, LCSW, and Dr. Michelle Scotton Franklin will headline the informative lecture via Zoom, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9. Students will receive 1.5 CE credits for attending the event. You can register here.
