Building a Critical Communication Toolkit to Create Dialogue Across Difference

March 6 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Institute for the Arts and Humanities and Department of Communication will host an evening of conversation and shared learning in advance of the upcoming 2024 Weil Lecture on American Citizenship. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in CURRENT, located in the ArtSpace+ Studio. Participants in this interactive workshop will gain critical communication tools for engaging in difficult conversations. Attendees should walk away feeling better equipped to engage in community building conversations, whether that is with their next-door neighbor, their local school board, or at a political town hall.

This event is a CLE event. Students wishing to register as part of CLE should RSVP via HeelLife. To receive credit for this event, students must check-in at the event and scan a QR code following the close of the event to confirm attendance.

Anyone wishing to attend this event should register on Qualtrics by Monday, March 4.

This event sets the stage for PBS News Senior Correspondent Judy Woodruff’s visit to Carolina on Monday, March 25, 2024, to give the Weil Lecture. Her lecture, titled America at a Crossroads, will focus on America’s deep-rooted divisions and how to move forward as a community during a time of uncertainty.
