Yuri Alston

Yuri Alston (she/hers/ella), MSW, is an Assistant Director of Recruitment, Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). She joined the staff in October of 2023. Yuri previously worked in the early childhood education field where she held roles from case management to state level advocacy. Her roles have been specifically around the advancement and well-being of BIPOC populations. She also has experience in community organizing parent leaders to become change advocates in their communities to create a healthy and nurturing community for the youth. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She went on to obtain her Master of Social Work from UNC-CH where she specialized in community management, and policy practice.
