Beth Lowder is the Assistant Director of Community Engagement and Outreach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work. She previously was an Innovation Program Manager, where her work focused on developing and leading collaborative partnerships between the UNC School of Social Work and public, private, and nonprofit organizations to improve community health and well-being. She has expertise in community engagement, program development, operations, strategic planning, facilitation, and evaluation. Beth led the design, creation, and launch of the Community Aspirations Hub, a program within the School’s Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab, which adapted the global Poverty Stoplight methodology to create Aspire, an intervention for increasing social and economic mobility and improving family and community well-being. She oversees partnerships, training, and implementation of the Aspire intervention across North Carolina and in four additional states. Beth also worked with community engaged programs in the School, including the Family and Children’s Resource Program and the Cares Program, to advance their operations and strategic development efforts.
