Child Welfare Staff Development Social Worker III

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Assisting with the organization, implementation and coordination of a staff development program designed to enhance the competence of individual employees for the direct provision of services to families involved in Child Welfare. An employee in this position is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of an onboarding process; in-service trainings; and organizing further trainings to advance employees’ professional social work and administrative skills. This employee provides input to supervisory staff about the development and training needs identified through review of case work, interaction and observation of social work staff.

In addition to these duties, this employee will also facilitate Child and Family Team meetings and lead our Child Welfare Quality Assurance process.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES PERFORMED

Assist in the interview process for team vacancies
Assist with providing and/or coordinating staff training on State and Local policies and procedure as well as, skill development based on the assessment of needs and organizational goals
Assist with developing and implementing a structured onboarding process
Coordinating and/or conducting trainings for community partners regarding Child Welfare policies and procedures
Child and Family Team Meeting facilitation and documentation
Leading the Quality Assurance process by providing technical assistance and consultation to management and staff on the interpretation and application of federal and state law, policy and mandates as well as gathering, distributing and monitoring data in regards to quality assurance and staff or team performance measures
Minimum education and experience

A Master’s degree in Social Work or related field is preferred, but at least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or other Human Services field is required. Two years of experience in a Social Services setting is preferred; however, a combination of education and experience will be considered.
