Carla brings her passion for student success to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work, where she serves as a Student Success Coach. In this role, Carla empowers online Master of Social Work (MSW) students by offering personalized curriculum guidance and connecting them with essential resources to support their journey. Committed to fostering holistic growth, Carla collaborates closely with students to address their educational, personal, and professional aspirations. 

Before stepping into her role as a Student Success Coach, Carla served as an undergraduate Academic Advisor within UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences. In this role, she supported and advised UNC student athletes. Prior to her advising career, Carla worked as a school counselor in the Triangle area, demonstrating a deep commitment to nurturing student well-being and success. 

Carla holds a Master of Arts in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders from East Carolina University. She also holds a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy from Appalachian State University.
