Chris Hilburn-Trenkle

Chris Hilburn-Trenkle graduated from Carolina with a degree in Media Studies in 2019. He worked for The Daily Tar Heel for three years, including one year as the sports editor, where he edited all stories, wrote two original articles a week, and generated pitches and assigned stories for a team of 29 writers. He went on to serve as the editor of News of Orange County before joining Baseball America as associate and then digital editor. As a lifelong fan of the University, Chris is excited and honored to tell the stories of the amazing work done by the School of Social Work. One of his favorite memories at Carolina was covering the 2019 UNC-Duke men’s basketball game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, which included some famous attendees such as President Barack Obama.
