The National Center for Child Traumatic Stress (NCCTS), co-located at UCLA and Duke University is the coordinating center for the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). The NCCTS is seeking applicants for the position of NCCTS Improvement Advisor. The NCCTS leads, coordinates and facilitates national collaborations and initiatives across child servicing systems and multiple topical domains; producing child trauma resources, products, reports and information for providers, treatment developers, families and stakeholders. Please note that the NCCTS does not provide direct clinical services to children and families. This position (NCCTS Improvement Advisor) currently allows remote work and is anticipated to be a combination of remote and on-site in the future. Position is located at Duke University in Durham, NC.
The NCTSN is a unique federally funded initiative that seeks to improve the quality, effectiveness and availability of care and services for children and families who are exposed to a wide range of traumatic experiences, including physical and sexual abuse; domestic, school and community violence; natural disasters and terrorism; and life-threatening injury and illness. Combining knowledge of child development, expertise in child traumatic stress, and attention to cultural perspectives, the NCTSN supports the development and broad adoption of evidence-based and trauma-informed treatments. The NCTSN is a collaboration of 140 academic, clinical, and community service centers across the U.S.
The NCCTS Improvement Advisor is based in the NCCTS Training and Implementation Program. This position:
• Provides leadership in the area of implementation science and quality improvement for multiple mental health (child trauma) and related initiatives within the NCCTS.
• Designs, delivers, and manages various training initiatives addressing child trauma treatment improvement and increased access to services for those working in child serving systems.
• Oversees and offers technical assistance throughout training initiatives.
• Documents improvement measures and strategies for national learning collaboratives.
• Design data collection procedures and metrics reports.
• Develops and carries out needs assessments to determine which training platform is appropriate to the need.
• Provide training and coaching in quality improvement strategies and make sure that strategies used are adequately documented.
• Works in collaboration with other NCCTS programs such as Data and Evaluation, Site Integration and Collaboration, Policy, and Service Systems, among others.
• Reports to the Director of the Training and Implementation Program.

Experience in: Quality improvement, education, mental health or related child trauma field; A minimum of five years’ experience in the design, delivery and evaluation of innovative training and education programs within child serving systems, mental health, and other child trauma related fields. Must be capable of consulting and working collaboratively with individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and roles.
Master’s degree strongly preferred (e.g. healthcare administration or public health with quality/systems emphasis, psychology, human factors experience).
Salary is dependent on education and experience.
