Continuing education events offered via the School of Social Work AHEC Training Partnership include half-day and full-day workshops, faculty presentation at state-wide conferences as well as various training curriculum requested by the nine regional AHECs. Topics for these events include ongoing offerings from the School’s Jordan Institute for Families training faculty as well as other faculty members and field instructors associated with the School of Social Work. A list of workshops offered through this program are listed on the side panel of this website and cover the gamut of mental health, substance abuse and developmental disabilities topics.
In fiscal year 2007-08, the School’s faculty, adjunct faculty, field instructors and Ph.D. students demonstrated it’s commitment to meeting the educational demands of mental health and substance abuse professionals across North Carolina and to the NCAHECs by providing 557 hours of continuing education programs to more than 3,000 participants last year.
