The UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) has named Mimi Chapman, Ph.D., an HPDP Research Fellow. The aim of this program is to create and support a community of interdisciplinary scholars who are interested in addressing pressing health problems through collaborative research, training, dissemination and community engagement designed to prevent disease and promote good health, especially among vulnerable populations.
Now in its 24th year, the UNC center is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and currently has about $9 million in projects.
