Alzheimer's Association, DC: Senior Specialist, Public Health


General Summary

The Senior Specialist, Public Health supports the Director of Public Health and is responsible for (1) developing or updating communications on Alzheimer's and other dementias as public health issues; (2) managing the day-to-day efforts of a nationwide strategy to advocate for surveillance data; and (3) contributing to the implementation and monitoring of the Public Health Department's strategic priorities. The Senior Specialist will manage projects from start to finish and will collaborate within the division, across the Association, and with select external partners. The position interacts continuously with staff in the Association's chapter network.

Responsibilities of this job (the positions of lead Residential Care Specialists are for a married couple; positions require RCS to live on-site with residents. Residents are male youth from 12-18 years old who have been sex trafficked.)

Encourage spiritual growth and awareness through daily devotions (group & personal) and prayer.

Build positive relationships, serve as a positive role model, and teach appropriate social skills

Applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Applicants with advanced degrees in the human services field are preferred. Also, applicants must have prior experience with parenting/fostering children and must have been married at least 5 years.
