Compliance and Special Projects Manager


About TROSA: Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers (TROSA) is an innovative, multi-year residential program that enables substance abusers to be productive, recovering individuals by providing comprehensive treatment, work-based vocational training, education, and continuing care. Residents learn job skills while working for one of the businesses that generate revenue to help support TROSA's program;

Job Summary: This position will work across TROSA departments as an internal consultant to design and implement new initiatives and organizational improvements. The Manager will serve to ensure the program meets internal and external compliance standards.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Partner with executive team to identify new initiatives and process improvements
    • Develop plan and timeline in collaboration with key stakeholders for implementation of new projects
    • Initiate and support implementation of new initiatives
    • Report, document and evaluate projects
  • Program Compliance Coordination:
    • Tracks laws and regulations that might affect the organization's policies and processes.
    • Oversee annual Quality Management planning process in coordination with TROSA Management Team
    • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with various regulations from grants, licensing bodies, state regulators, etc.
    • Review and revise internal policies and procedures to ensure these reflect best practices and meet relevant compliance requirements  (e.g. emergency and disaster preparedness plan, inventory controls, asset tracking)
    • Document, track, and report key grant activities to ensure implementation compliance with third party agencies such as HUD, NCHFA, NCSECU, Insurance agents, leaseholders 

Credentials, Certifications or Experience:   The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to coordinate multiple projects:

  • Bachelor degree
  • At least 3 years of professional experience with increasing responsibility
  • Project planning and previous auditing  experience a plus
  • Familiar with regulatory agencies
  • MBA or equivalent master degree a plus; experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Management experience a plus
  • Ability to identify audit risks and take appropriate actions to correct.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work well with a variety of individuals from different walks of life
  • Ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
