Position: Program Manager

Program: Residential/Shelter

Reports to: Residential Services Director

Status: Full-Time, Regular, Exempt

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience, including full benefits

Seeking Program Manager for IFC’s homeless shelter, providing supervisory support to staff working in the shelter, maintaining upkeep of facilities, and managing provision of resident-centered quality services that are consistent with the agency’s core values and commitment to racial equity and social justice.   A high level of importance is placed on culturally-competent, trauma-informed interactions using a harm-reduction and housing-focused approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in policy and program development and implementation
  • Assure shelter team has access to information  and works together to assist residents in finding resources
  • Attend relevant outside meetings and collaborative efforts and foster inter-agency collaboration
  • Provide direct supervision of staff and conduct regular program staff meetings
  • Maintain a safe environment
  • Oversee facility, maintenance, administrative needs
  • Attend weekly supervision and leadership meetings, periodic agency meetings, and trainings as scheduled. 
  • Assure accurate, current documentation and outcome/output data is entered and submitted in a timely manner
  • Keep necessary files, forms and reporting information organized and accessible
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Rotate weekly on-call schedule with other Program Manager and Residential Services Director
  • Schedule is mostly daytime hours with some evenings required;  Position is sole coverage for the facility at times
  • Position is considered Essential Staff during emergencies, including inclement weather

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate education or experience in human services, including understanding of causes of homelessness, and knowledge of Housing First; ability to use harm reduction, member-centered, trauma-informed approaches
  • Valid driver’s license strongly preferred; at least state required minimum of auto insurance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and effective time management skills
  • Computer literacy (i.e. basic use of Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.); Ability to learn internal databases
  • Analytical and decision making ability, including effectively resolving conflict and coping with crises
  • Ability to supervise individuals and lead a team
