POSITION: SOCIAL WORKER III (FOSTER CARE)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supervises out of home placements and provides intensive ongoing foster care services to children who are in the legal custody of Department of Social Services. Work involves assessment and evaluation of children and their families; development of permanent plans; review and monitoring of progress towards goals and permanence; timely documentation and completion of paperwork; ongoing preparation for and participation in Juvenile Court proceedings. Also, this Social Worker completes court ordered or agency requested home studies to determine eventual placement of children with respective relatives or kin and any other duties as needed or required.
Valid NC Drivers License and own transportation required. Must be able to transport clients in personal vehicle.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree from an accredited school of social work; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work through the Child Welfare Collaborative; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of directly related experience; or a four-year degree in a human services field plus two years directly related experience; or a four-year college or university degree plus three years of directly related experience. Directly related experience is defined as human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning.
