Social/Clinical Research Specialist-UNC Chapel Hill. The Social/Clinical Research Specialist will facilitate and lead research efforts related to an AHRQ-funded project that is developing a measure of shared decision making for use in the context of cancer screening and treatment. Incumbent will participate extensively in day-to-day management of all project activities, serving as the secondary research contact behind the PI. Primary responsibilities include assisting with design of data collection instruments and processes, monitoring data collection, and supporting analyses, and interpretation of findings. The role will be involved with protocol modifications and evaluation of the research study, as well as supporting the dissemination of study outcomes via the academic literature, presentations and other venues. Responsibilities will include working on a portfolio of mixed-method research projects focused patient-provider communication & decision making and its impact on cancer care quality. Primary among these is a newly funded three-year study developing a phased measure of shared decision making for use among patients receiving care-related screening and treatment. The Social/Clinical Research Specialist will be a part of a vibrant and engaged research team, assisting with an ongoing study exploring innovative mechanisms to deliver cancer screening decision support to primary care patients facing a cancer screening decision.
