POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a 40 hour/week role and has primary responsibility for coordinating required Reception and Placement services to newly arriving refugee families as well as ongoing adjustment, orientation, and social services for eligible clients. The Resettlement Case Specialist will work closely with community organizations, churches, property owners, and service providers to facilitate self-sufficiency among clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Client Services:
Provide on-going case management, including budgeting assistance, throughout the three months of the R&P program to all eligible clients (primarily refugees and asylees)
Provide necessary orientations as needed to clients
Conduct comprehensive family assessment with each client within one week of arrival in the US and make referrals to additional services as needed
Perform home visits and evaluations during resettlement period
Provide mediation services between clients and outside entities (i.e., neighbors, landlords, volunteers, service providers), and additional adjustment counseling as needed
Coordinate medical appointments for clients including primary care, mental health, and specialist care
Responsible for assisting clients with attending medical appointments and managing emergency medical situations for clients
Carry out all required functions as determined by World Relief and the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration in a professional manner
Maintain open communication with staff, volunteers and community partners on behalf of clients in accordance with individual self-sufficiency plans, while honoring confidentiality
Administrative Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate records of client files, case notes, and reporting records and submit monthly R&P program reports
Actively participate in department meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events
Completing all pre-arrival preparations; perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Resettlement Manager
Provide supervision and accountability for interns.
Ensure timely and appropriate services by all department personnel at the Durham office
Other related duties as assigned
