The Orange County Criminal Justice Resource Department has an opening for a Reentry Recovery Navigator. This is a time-limited, benefited position. An employee in this position is primarily responsible for providing case management services and support for Individuals incarcerated in or recently released from the Orange County Detention Center with a history of or current substance use, prioritizing those with opiate addiction, to identify treatment and resource needs in the community to maximize opportunities for success in recovery. An enhanced focus is on serving individuals from marginalized backgrounds, including people of color and those who identify as LGBTQ+. Work involves providing assessment, case management, and supportive counseling to people in the detention center and making appropriate referrals and connections, processing and maintaining a variety of forms and records and arranging for the provision of services in accordance with existing laws, rules and regulations.
Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Criminal Justice Resource Department’s Clinical Coordinator allowing for the exercise of independent judgment in planning and carrying out the details of the work. Does related work as required.
