Prevention Coordinator
The Prevention Education Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, managing and facilitating Too Good for Drugs prevention education program. It is a multi-session program delivered throughout Wake County middle/high schools. The program also delivers primary prevention education to community agencies using the strategies of community engagement and community mobilization. The Coordinator will manage all data, reporting and activity tracking for grant compliance.

About SouthLight Healthcare
Founded in 1970, SouthLight Healthcare is one of the area’s largest and long-established nonprofit providers of substance use treatment and mental health services. With outpatient and community-based programs, SouthLight provides prevention, education and treatment services in the Triangle and beyond. SouthLight has multiple office locations throughout the Triangle area, serving more than 9,000 clients each year. Services include adult outpatient counseling, Intensive Outpatient Program, Psychiatric Services and Medication Management, Opioid Treatment Program, Court Deferral Program, Peer Support Services, Family Centered Treatment, Community Support Team and a residential treatment program for women and children and more.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement Too Good for Drugs primary prevention education program. This includes designing and implementing school-based curriculum, training presentations, and attending community meetings.
Maintain accurate statistics and monthly reports
Design, develop and maintain all primary prevention and community education marketing as needed.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to primary prevention, community organizing, and community planning.
Build, cultivate, and maintain relationships with Wake County schools and other agencies to assure ongoing program improvement, participation, and evaluation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Health, Counseling, or related fields
Licensure/Certifications
Meets requirements for QP status according to 10ANAC 27G.0104
Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to make independent judgment and decisions
Microsoft Office (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc…)
Classroom management skills
Innovative presentation and public speaking skills

Benefits:
Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $500 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays.
