The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) Institute for Trauma Recovery seeks a licensed, master’s-level therapist to deliver active and control teletherapy interventions for a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT). Specifically, this pilot RCT will assess the ability of a standardized, 5-session written exposure therapy (described here: https://bit.ly/3srAf04) to prevent and reduce PTSD among sexual assault survivors at high risk of developing PTSD.
This therapist will be paid $600 for completing 5-6 hours of RCT training administered virtually by the study psychologist from the National Center for PTSD and will receive $100 for each ~1-hour therapy session completed with participants (approximately 100 sessions will be administered during the pilot by 2-3 therapists). Intervention sessions will be scheduled in advance by study research associates; these research associates will also confirm appointments with participants prior to sessions and coordinate follow-up assessments. On average, each therapist will perform 4-5 sessions per week through the anticipated end of recruitment in May 2024.
This therapist will also meet every 2-3 weeks with their trainer from the National Center for PTSD for case review.
There is potential for longer-term work with this position as this pilot data will be used to submit a grant to fund a larger version of this pilot.
