IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION: Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases related to the Delta variant (and possibly other strains), increased hospitalization and ICU utilization and guidance/mandates from applicable authorities, including the state and federal government, Lincoln Community Health Center has instituted a mandatory vaccination requirement for all employees as a condition of employment. This requires all new hires to be “fully vaccinated” within 30 days of their applicable start date. “Fully vaccinated” currently means (a) 2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or (b) 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. Your vaccination status will need to be confirmed by providing proof of vaccination in a form satisfactory to Lincoln Community Health Center after an applicant receives a conditional offer of employment. Lincoln Community Health Center has a process for receiving and evaluating vaccination exemption requests due to medical contraindication, disability, and sincerely held religious beliefs under applicable law. An applicant seeking such an exemption should contact Human Resources to initiate that process no later than two (2) business days after receiving a conditional offer of employment. All information regarding vaccination status will be maintained in confidence in accordance with applicable law. LICENSED CLINICAL ADDICTIONS SPECIALIST (LCAS)
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINIC
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Provides initial assessment, diagnoses, and evaluation services for adult patients. Provides treatment services for adult patients with substance use disorders. May provide consultation, screening, referral for adolescents and children with substance use disorders as needed. May provide case management services as needed for adults or children with substance use disorders. May assist in planning, developing and implementing health promotion and disease prevention programs and therapeutic services for individuals , groups and families with substance use disorders.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
A thorough knowledge of psychosocial, psychological, behavioral and psychiatric disorders, including substance abuse. Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally in a professional manner and style, and the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and educational levels. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, staff, community resources and the general public.
EDUCATION
A Master’s Degree in Social Work or related human services is required. Licensed as a clinical addictions specialist or a Provisional license as a Clinical Addictions Specialist as required by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES
A minimum of three (3) years experience post Masters in human services field as a clinical addictions specialist in a health or mental health setting, or five (5) years experience post Masters in a non-clinical setting.
