Position Type: Full-time

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) to join our rapidly expanding integrated behavioral health in primary care program (Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids) as a HealthySteps Specialist. The position is full-time, providing opportunities for clinical work, teaching/training, and collaborative research/quality improvement efforts.

The Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids (HMHK) program strives toward a fully integrated model of behavioral health in primary care and provides consultative and intervention services in pediatric primary care practices in the CHOP Primary Care Network. HealthySteps, a program of ZERO TO THREE, is a new initiative within HMHK that promotes nurturing caregiving, supports families, and improves healthy development and well-being of babies and toddlers, preparing them for school and life. We aim to achieve this goal by weaving together the expertise of a child development expert, the HealthySteps Specialist, and the pediatric primary care provider. Together, just at the time when the brain is developing most rapidly, these experts bring focus to the important skills needed for families to foster healthy child development and life-long well-being: social emotional development; language and literacy skills; cognition skills; and perceptual, motor and physical development.

The HealthySteps Specialist is an LCSW and early child development expert who will join the pediatric primary care team at CHOP Primary Care, Cobbs Creek to provide interventions, referrals, and follow-up for families with patients ages 0-3. The HealthySteps Specialist builds strong relationships with families and providers to increase the efficiency of the medical system and support team-based comprehensive care. The HealthySteps Specialist will be part of the very energetic multi-disciplinary Healthy Minds, Healthy Kids team (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical Social Workers, and Pediatric Psychologists). The practice serves a high proportion of children ensured by Medicaid and is comprised of a team of pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants who are highly motivated to provide high quality team-based care to patients.

Experience and knowledge about integrated behavioral healthcare, early childhood growth and development, parent-child relational health, infant and early childhood mental health, and family systems is preferred. Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania is required prior to beginning the position.

Further inquiries about the position can be directed to Kali Hackett, MSW, MPH (hackettk@chop.edu). Applications, including a detailed cover letter and CV, should be directed to the following CHOP HR portal link: https://careers.chop.edu/job-invite/190091/

Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. CHOP is an equal opportunity employer. Our commitment to excellence drives us to ensure we have candidates who represent a variety of perspectives, expertise and experiences.
