The County is currently accepting applications for the position of CPS Social Worker (In-
Home Services). This position provides intensive casework services to children and
families where child neglect and/or abuse have occurred; assesses needs and implements
service plans to minimize risk and promote family reunification; includes visits to homes,
case documentation, court testimony, collaboration with community agencies; and conducts
some CPS investigations.
Requires skill in crisis intervention, risk assessment, individual and family counseling, and
knowledge of all aspects of child protective services.
Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work and one year of human services experience in
the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention,
psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and
two years of experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field and three years of
experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a Master’s Degree
or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative
Program will equal one year of experience credit; all degrees must be from an accredited
college or university; if degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of transcript
with application; a valid driver’s license is required. Bilingual applicants are

Starting Salary $53,300 – $58,700 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits
package available.
