COUNTY SOCIAL SERVICES BUSINESS OFFICER II
Position # 742601 Salary Range: $68,159-$107,727
Primary Purpose of Position: This position serves as a high-level executive position that will lead and direct internal operation to optimize fiscal effectiveness and minimize financial risk by overseeing critical financial functions. These functions include but are not limited to financial reviews, coding of time/reimbursements, county-single audits and budgeting. This position leads a team of fiscal and administrative professionals to ensure compliance with fiscal policy and law as well as oversee targeted projects to increase compliance and fiscal control act procedures through training, policy development and internal controls. This position will work closely with the Director and Deputy Director of Social Services to develop specific goals and objectives to increase fiscal compliance, maximum reimbursement and audit compliance. This position works closely with the County Finance Director, County Manager, Legal, Management Information Services, Human Resources and other internal and external agencies. This position will report directly to the Director of Social Services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration. Considerable knowledge of the organization and structure of Local, State and Governmental agencies. General knowledge of personnel, purchasing and accounting practices and procedures. Ability to plan and direct fiscal and business services. Ability to train and supervise employees engaged in business operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, County and State officials, and the general public.
Minimum Education and Experience: Graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with a major in business, public, or hospital administration, and five years of administrative experience involving participation in the planning and management of a business or governmental program; or nine months of graduate training in an accredited school of social work and four years of supervisory or administrative experience in social work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid North Carolina driver license required. Bilinguals encouraged to apply. DD 214 is required from applicants claiming a military preference.
