Scholarship Award, Kathleen Price Bryan Fund, 2019-2020
Molly Lynn Marus-Quinley is determined to help improve the understanding of intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and the presentation of these disorders in under-researched populations. She’s also committed to supporting individuals and families experiencing challenges related to these diagnoses.
Part of that commitment includes her future goal to provide low- or no-cost care to people experiencing financial hardships. Having grown up in a working-class household, Marus-Quinley understands first-hand how income can be a barrier to receiving mental health services. She’s determined to help remove those barriers for others.
Receiving the Kathleen Price Bryan Scholarship during her final year of study in the MSW program means she’s one step closer to serving those in need. Following graduation, she plans to pursue clinical licensure and join a psychotherapy practice in Durham serving neurodivergent individuals and their families.
“This scholarship reduces the amount of loans I will have to repay after graduation, which will improve my financial flexibility to provide charity care services in the future. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and will truly make the most of my education throughout this year and in the future.”
