Working with Families from India and Understanding Autism

In this presentation, Shagun Gaur will focus on a few aspects of Indian culture, including how the family setting is built on traditional beliefs. We will discuss how the diagnosis of autism could be perceived, and how the family dynamics can be affected and perceived.

Focus on Family and Disability Seminar Series trainings are for students, professionals, and community members interested in therapeutic practices that are anti-oppressive, intersectional, and centered on self-determination. 

Free of charge for UNC School of Social Work students, faculty, staff, and field instructors.

Scholarships available upon request.

Family members may attend for free.
